Medical transcription editor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A medical transcription editor or MT editor edits transcripts that are generated by other transcriptionists and speech recognition software. They ensure that the transcripts are error-free and match the content of the original recordings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medical transcriptionists are now often working as medical transcription editors. Here's why there is a big demand for medical transcription editors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More\u00a0healthcare providers are using speech recognition (SR) technology, also called continuous speech recognition (CSR). Medical transcription needs to be very accurate and the transcripts created by this\u00a0technology are NOT accurate enough. Problems such as heavy accents, mumbling, and poor speech affect the accuracy of transcripts done by recognition software. That\u2019s why medical transcription editors are needed\u00a0to edit computer-generated reports. A transcription editor listens, reads and edits the transcript.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MT editors also verify and edit transcripts done by other MTs to asure that all transcripts are highly accurate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MT editors are\u00a0also often used to edit\u00a0transcripts done in\u00a0other\u00a0countries as many foreign MTs are not familiar with American expressions, slang, names, and places.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S. Department of Labor reports that the middle 50% of medical transcriptionists&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/oes\/current\/oes319094.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">earn between&nbsp;<b>$27,810<\/b>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<b>$42,690<\/b><\/a>&nbsp;a year. However, the majority of transcriptionists are paid on a production basis, which offers the opportunity to earn more as you become more experienced and&nbsp;increase your speed or efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Legal transcription career<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Legal transcription deals with the legal industry and legal topics. It's the easiest type of transcription to start your transcription career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There a several transcription companies that accept beginners with no experience to work for them, including <a href=\"https:\/\/generaltranscriptionworkfromhome.com\/blog\/transcription-jobs-with-scribie-no-experience-required\/\">Scribie<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/generaltranscriptionworkfromhome.com\/blog\/transcription-jobs-for-beginners-with-quicktate-and-idictate\/\">QuickTate & iDictate<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/generaltranscriptionworkfromhome.com\/blog\/transcription-jobs-for-beginners-with-transcribeme\/\">TranscribeMe<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/generaltranscriptionworkfromhome.com\/blog\/speechpad-has-transcription-work-from-home-for-beginners-review\/\">SpeechPad<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/generaltranscriptionworkfromhome.com\/blog\/transcription-jobs-for-beginners-at-castingwords\/\">CastingWords<\/a>, AppenScribe,&nbsp;<a class=\"vglnk\" href=\"http:\/\/rev.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Rev.com<\/a>, GoTranscript, GMR, Tigerfish and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No experience is required to work for those companies but you have to pass a test. But those transcription jobs for beginners that don't require experience don't pay much. You can use those to get a feel for transcription work and to build some experience.
