Alphabet Transcription Specialists is currently recruiting experienced transcribers. They are always looking for experienced transcriptionists to work from home.

This UK company has been established since 1995 and provides general, corporate, legal and medical transcription. They provide transcription worldwide but some of their work will be for UK clients so you need to know UK spelling.

Qualifications Requirements

  • English must be your first language.
  • You must have excellent command of the English language.

Equipment Needed

  • You must have your own transcription software and equipment, including computer software.

  • Typically, their transcribers work with MP3, WAV, WMA, DSS and DVF files, so your equipment must be able to handle them.
  • You will need a fast broadband connection, an email account and up-to-date virus and spyware software.
  • All their transcribers use cupping headphones. These are the most important piece of equipment you will purchase.

They will test you on your grasp of grammar and transcription skills. A short sound file is used to assess candidates’ ability to listen to and interpret speech correctly and carrying out the appropriate research.

They identify their transcribers’ strengths in any given sector to assign them with work most suited to their knowledge and skill.

Successful candidates are usually notified within seven working days. If your application is successful, you will be asked to sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement before you start working for them.
