  • They are always looking for well-qualified typists for general transcription. They do NOT hire for medical or legal transcription.
  • They also hire qualified people for Spanish transcription.
  • They have a lot of work and will let you know what work is available and the details (pay rate, due date, etc.) and you let them know if you would like to take it.
  • They handle all kinds of transcription work: interviews, dictation, academic research, business meetings, conference calls, focus groups, press briefings, lectures, legal transcription, radio shows, video shows, panel discussions, sermons, seminars and more.
  • Choose the files you want to work on, know up-front what type of files and difficulty level you will receive.
  • You can work at your own schedule and pick and choose how much work you do, but they ask that you accept at least 4 hours of audio each month.

Pay

  • Some workers report that they pay more than other transcription companies.
  • They don’t disclose their pay rates until you are hired but they mention that rates are based on the turnaround time, number of speakers and quality of audio.
  • After you’re hired. They will let you know what work is available and the details (pay rate, due date, etc.) and you let us know if you would like to take it.
  • They pay more for difficult audio.
  • They pay on time.

  • They always have plenty of work available, hire many transcriptionists and are always looking for well-qualified transcriptionists.
  • It is a good company to work for and reviews of transcribers mention that they are happy working for this company.
  • They provide a training course and a course certification that is free and optional.
  • The majority of people report that the staff is friendly, helps with problems and answers questions quickly (a few people complained about management at some time but most people are happy with them).
  • It’s a good place to transcribe a variety of topics and learn while you work.
  • Workers report that they always have work, interesting files, you always know the audio quality and pay scale in advance. The staff is friendly and communication is great.

How to apply

Go to gmrtranscription.com and click on the Careers tab on home page just below services section. Submit your resume. Once you submit your resume, they will email the test and instructions on how to take and submit it. If they want to hire you, they’ll contact you within two weeks. If you do not hear from them, it means that they don’t want to hire you.
